This Privacy Policy explains how Foila (“Foila”, “we”, “us”), operated by 4bees d.o.o., a company registered in the Republic of Serbia, collects, uses and protects your information when you use foila.netand related services (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy. 4bees d.o.o. is the data controller for the personal data described below.

1. Information we collect

Account data: your email address and authentication details. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile from Google.

Content you provide: topics/prompts, website URLs you ask us to analyze, subtitles and styling choices, and any clips or audio you upload.

Generated content: the videos we produce for you and related metadata.

Usage & technical data: log data, IP address, device/browser information, and basic analytics needed to run and secure the Service.

Billing data: handled by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Polar is the seller of record for paid plans and collects the billing details and payment data needed for the transaction and for tax purposes. We receive only your subscription status, plan and a customer/subscription reference — we never see or store your card details.

2. How we use your information

To provide and operate the Service (generate videos from your inputs), manage your account, process subscriptions, prevent abuse and fraud, provide support, comply with legal obligations, and improve the Service.

3. Service providers (sub-processors)

We share the minimum necessary data with the following third parties:

To generate your videos: OpenAI (script and website analysis), Google Gemini (text-to-speech narration), Pexels and Pixabay (stock footage). Your prompts and analyzed URLs are sent to the relevant AI providers to produce your content.

To run the business: Polar (payments, as Merchant of Record), Resend (transactional email — account verification, password reset and subscription notices, which involves your email address), Slack (internal operational alerts; a new signup or a new paid subscription notifies our team and includes the account email address), and Plausible (privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics).

Hosting & infrastructure: DigitalOcean (servers and data storage) and Cloudflare (DNS, TLS and email routing).

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — for authentication/session and OAuth security. We do not use advertising cookies, and our analytics (Plausible) is cookieless.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. Your projects, uploads and generated videos are kept until you delete them or close your account. Logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Each account’s data is isolated, and access is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own (e.g. by the providers above). We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by notice in the app.
